Political Sausage
Hand colored zinc etching, taking a glimpse at what's behind the glow of the illuminated presentation. It stems from the old saying of how most folks wouldn't want to see how certain things are made, sausage or politics in particular. Here I'm showing the ingredients of the slaughtered animals that it takes to make the sausage, as well as other icons used in selling this product. Hidden in this image are icons representable of the gloss of advertisement. The capital heads that are in the public light are the fancy corinthian type, but the rest of each column head in the shadows, show the true identity of the reason behind most things. These heads in the shadows are of the iconoclastic style; the same type used in the Treasury building. Other clues are the design of the overhead light resembles the arches of MacDonald's. This is just to show how most folks will buy anything if a clown's face is put on a product. I did this image after the 2004 election and this is why there's a Dodo bird on the table; showing that no matter how much lipstick is slapped on a political product, the final item is still obsolete. |
