Communist China has the world's largest military, although their equipment is mostly obsoleteby 1960's standards.

 People’s Liberation Army

 Notes: Chinese characters may be horse cavalry - use Leg Infantry, add Horsemanship to first and subsequent term skill tables.

 Chinese civilians may join the "Home Guard". See "Reserves".

Basic Training: Third World

 ISSUE EQUIPMENT:

  • Type 79 or 85 Submachine Guns (as PPsH41, except Mag: 30, Weight: 1.9 KG, Bulk 2/3, and Recoil: Single Shot 2, Automatic 4)
  • Type 56 or 68 Carbine (same as SKS).
  • Type 56 Assault Rifle (same as AKM).
  • Type 79 Sniping Rifle (Same as SVD).
  • Type 74 Automatic Rifle (similar to RPK)
  • Type 67 Machine Gun (similar to PK)
  • Type 59 Pistol (copy of Makarov)
  • Chinese versions of T62 and T55 Main Battle Tank, some with western 105mm guns
  • T-80 MBT, purchased from Russia
  • PT76 Armored Reconaissance Vehicle
  • BTR60 Infantry carrier

 Navy

Notes: The Chinese Navy has an enormous fleet of patrol and patrol missile craft, mostly obsolescent or built with obsolete technology.

 No Seabees

 Naval Aviation uses only helicopters and landbased aircraft. Use Air Force career tables.

Huge numbers of obsolete aircraft.  Copies of soviet fihgters include

  • MiG-15,
  • MIG-17,
  • MIG-19,
  • MIG-21,
  • MIG -23 (few),
  • Su-15/21,
  • Il-26 light bomber,
  • Tu-16 Badger heavy bomber (few). 

More recently, they have bought from the Russian Su-27 fighters and possibly MiG-29 fighters - both among the best the Russians have.
 

 Generally Chinese versions of obsolete Soviet planes, although the new Q7 attack plane compares favorably with some older Western attack planes.
