"I'm a chopper pilot—I flew UH60's in the Army, but since I've been on the open market I fly whatever the client supplies, which means I've flown darn near every whirlybird know to humankind.

"I've pulled our guys out of some real hot LZ's—that's chopper talk for landing zones. You know it's bad when it sounds like it's hailing, with stuff banging and popping off your chopper, and suddenly you realize it's not hail, those are BULLETS. Dang!

"I remembered hearing in flight school that of the several thousand choppers lost in Vietnam, most were shot down by rifle and machine gun fire from regular ground troops.

"I told this to my door gunner. He just patted his gun and said 'Cuts both ways, Cap'n!'"
