Notes: The tiny Australian military must cover an enormous area. Units, especially special forces, tend to be very self-reliant, capable of much independant action. Basic Training: Commonwealth Army A large portion of Australia's armoured and mechanized force is composed of reservists. The army is replacing its UH-1s with UH-60s. They also use the LAV-25 or its variants. ISSUE EQUIPMENT:

Army Special Forces:
- Australian Special Air Service - SAS Table
- Tactical Assault Group (TAG) - SAS Table. This is Australia’s counterterrorism unit, and is actually a specially-trained squadron of the Australian SAS.
- 1st Commando Regiment -Naval Raider Table (This is a small reserve unit based in and around Sydney)
- 3rd Battalion (Para), Royal Australian Regiment -Airborne
Navy:
- No Seabees
- The Australian Navy is replacing its aging British Oberon class diesel-electric submarines with Swedish-designed Vãstergõtland-class boats.
- Naval Aviation uses Air Force career tables.
- Australia's old carrier, the "Melbourne", was retired years ago.
