Don Juenemann

Don Juenemann, a Housing Inspector and 33-year employee of the City of Saint Paul, Minnesota, was murdered in the line of duty on December 24, 1997. Don was also an integral member of the Woodbury Fire Department. Don was also a husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, Godfather, and friend.

James Jerome Jackson of Saint Paul, has pleaded guilty to murdering Don. On Tuesday, August 11, 1998, in a Ramsey County courtroom, Jackson admitted to this crime.

On Thursday, August 13, 1998, Jackson was formally sentenced. As a life sentence is mandatory in Minnesota, it was not necessary to have waited from Tuesday, however, as victims of a violent crime Don's immediate family were allowed to prepare a victim's impact statement telling the court how this whole event has impacted our lives.
