Dr.David Mitchell: (1750-aft.1816)
     He was born in Edinbourgh, Scotland in 1750 and married Elizabeth Bertrand (part Ottawa). They had 13 children together, two were: Andrew(Andre) & Jesse (m.Lewis Crawford in 1806). From 1790 to 1810 David was hiring voyageurs for the Great Lakes region & to the Mississippi River. In july of 1816 he was employed in the British Indian Dept. at Drummond Is. in council with "Broken Tooth" (the Ojibwe Chief at Sandy Lake from 1750-1828). David died at Penetanguishene, Ontario & his wife died in 1827 at Drummond Is.
