Jean du Lignon, sieur de La Mirande: (abt.1658 - bef.1690)
     He was the son of Elie (Theodore) Dulignon, sieur de La Mirande & Marthe Pacquet, born in Laroche, Angoumois, France. He married Marie Testard (daughter of Charles Testard dit Fortville & Anne Lamarque) at Montreal in 1684 (Marie later married Antoine Duquet in 1694). They had sons Pierre (b.1681/85) & Jean (b.abt.1686).
     Jean was with LaSalle to the Gulf of Mexico in 1682.
["After which the Sieur de la Salle said that his Majesty, as eldest Son of the Church, would annex no country to his crown
without making it his chief care to establish the Christian religion therein, and that its symbol must now be planted, which was
accordingly done at once by erecting a cross, before which the Vexilla and the Domine Salvum fac Regem were sung,
whereupon the ceremony was concluded with cries of Vive le Roi. Of all and every of the above the said Sieur de la Salle
having required of us an instrument, we have delivered to him the same signed by us, and by the undersigned witnesses, this
ninth day of April, one thousand six hundred and eighty-two.

Jean (II) du Lignon, sieur de La Mirande: (abt.1686 - 1757)
     He was the son of Jean du Lignon & Marie Testard/Tetard dit Fortville, born in Montreal. Pierre married Marie-Francoise Gosselin (daughter of Joseph Gosselin & Francoise Godbout) in 1730.
     Jean (II) was hired for the western fur trade in 1713.
 

Pierre du Lignon, sieur de La Mirande: (1681/85 -1736)
     He was the son of Jean du Lignon & Marie Testard/Tetard dit Fortville, born in Montreal. Pierre married Marguerite-Jeanne Desjarlais (de Gerlais) - St.Amand (daughter of Jean de Gerlais-St.Amand & Jeanne Trudel) at Quebec in 1703/04. Their children were Jacques-Claude (1705-abt.1761)(m.1st. Marie-Catherine Paye/Paille in 1738 & m.2nd. Marie-Catherine Trottier des Ruisseaux in 1744), Marie-Francoise (b.1706)(m. Jean Bte.Fleury dit Mitron in 1728), Marie-Therese (b.1708)(m. Joseph-Laurent Bertrand in 1741), Michel (b.1710)(m. Catherine Deziel Labreche in 1738), Claude (b.1712)(m. Marie-Josephte Trottier in 1735), Marie-Anne (b.1714)(m. Francois Lemaitre Auge Dueme in 1750), Marguerite (b.1716)(m. Antoine St.Romain in 1737), Jean Bte.(b.abt.1718) (m. Marie-Josephte-Angelique Lemaire), Pierre (b.1719), Joseph(Jean)(1724-abt.1762)(m. Josephe Dumaine), Catherine (b.1725)(m. Jean Bte.Caille in 1750), Francois (b.1726)(m.1st.to Marie-Josephte St.Agnes-St.Yves & 2nd.to Catherine Millet in 1761) & Gabriel (b.1729).
 

Jean Baptiste du Lignon: (1717/18 - 1748)
     He was the son of Pierre du Lignon & Marguerite-Jeanne De Gerlais. Jean married Marie-Joseph-Angelique Lemaitre-Bellenoix (abt.1717-1748) in 1704 and their children were; Louis-Joseph (b.1734)(m. Elisabeth Lacroix in 1750), Francoise-Michelle (b.1736), Marie-Therese (b.1738, Michilimackinac)(m. Joseph-Laurent Bertrand), Angelique (b.1740, Michilimackinac), Paul (b.1741, Sault Ste.Marie), Francois-Marianne (b.1744, Michilimackinac) & Joseph-Marguerite (b.1747, Sault Ste.Marie).
