LOUIS CARBONEAU DIT PROVENCAL: (abt.1770-1851)
Louis was born about 1770 in Canada and died 17 feb.1851 at Mendota
(todays Minnesota). He was also known as "Skadan" or "LaBlanc" or "Little
White". He married Muzanakawin, a Dakota women who was a cousin of
Chief Grey Iron. Together they had the following children: Louis Jr. (b.13
apr.1814), Antoine (b.12 dec.1816), Archange (b.29 oct.1818), Joseph
(b.22 dec.1819), George (b.abt.1820), Thomas (b.abt.1822), Angelique (b.abt.1834)
& Antoine (b.abt.1836).
