About this site:

Heartfelt and loving thanks go to Joshua E Seaver  for letting us use his Freehands Tarot paintings © 1997 (scanned acrylics) to beautify this site.  www.joshuaseaver.com.

All other graphics on this site are original photographs by Darren & Sandy, or artistic creations by Darren.  Some of the images in the Left Hand Path section are copped off of various sites on the 'net.  These are noted, and links are made to original sites when possible.

This is not a blog site in the strict, technical sense.  I am not exhibitionistic enough to write my personal diary on-line.  I do write some political, ethical and religious rants, and I do modify those documents after original publication.  Instead of a blog, this is more like an internet homunculus or alchemical experiment where my philosophical and gardening ideas can be expressed.  Readers are welcome to send me e-mail comments, but I'm not interested in having a blog style, open forum of posting comments to my rants.  I do like to receive e-mails, and I enjoy receiving interesting links, especially to news and political information.

Privacy Policy: This is a 100% non-commercial web site maintained completely at my own expense for the sake of sharing information and my opinions.  In the past, I used Vioclicks.com to track usage on many pages on this site.  No personal information was collected, nor e-mail addresses.  Above all, I do not send out spam, nor do I ask users for money for anything.  Vioclicks did not provide the identities or e-mail addresses of users.   I tracked the usage out of merely egoistic curiosity.  It's fascinating to see what people search for when they come to a web site like this one.  It also helps me see what sort of material attracts users.  Interestingly, this site ranks surprisingly high on search engines for various topics.  I have never advertised it.  No tracking information is collected at this time.

This is a completely non-profit web site operated at our expense for the sake of opening and warping minds.  No advertisements will be placed here and there is nothing to buy.  This web site does not earn us any money.  We maintain it out of the mere goodness of our hearts, and a desire to share our biased opinions.

What to send and what not to send us: Please don't bother sending me advertisements in hopes that I will post them for you, though I will be glad to post links to other informative, interesting and unusual sites that are not bursting with gif billboards and pop-ups  There are a few exceptions to this here, but I can't help it if a site with good content has the bad taste to cover their site with tacky animated gifs and banners.  Web awards, Ring memberships and CGI scripts are negative factors in my rating system.  We are interested in content with a minimum of strings attached.   Unfortunately, some good sites are on free hosts with annoying pop-ups and such, but that is preferable to large scale commercial sites whose primary goal is to get your credit card number.   If that is the kind of site you are promoting, or suggesting, I will ignore it.

We do not appreciate being sent internet chain mail.  For those of you who are not aware, none of it is legitimate.  Forwarding e-mails to everyone you know does nothing other than consume bandwidth.  No socially redeeming purposes are achieved that way, and huge amounts of bullshit are floating around.  I do not forward anything to anybody that anybody sends me, unless it is exceptionally educational and I have checked the facts.  I recommend that you do likewise to avoid sending sucker mail.  Check these sites first: Google, About.com urban legends and Break the Chain.

For more information about the general content of the site, view the "Directions" page.  You should also look at our "Disclaimer"

What's new?

This site is subject to fairly frequent modifications and additions.

I have stopped maintaining this "What's New" section.  It's just a pain in the butt.  Most of what's new occurs in the Left Hand PathGarden & Captain Davis' Curio Cabinet sections these days.  I do some updating in Aethyr X, but mostly on the Thelema and Western Magic pages, based on the results I've seen for search engines and use tracking.  The rest has been kind of atrophying.  Oh well...

Technical Information on this site: [up]

Best viewed with a generation 4 browser or higher.  Java and javascript are present here.  Netscape sucks so much now that I refuse to install it on any of my computers.  I do not know or care if this page displays properly in any of the plethora of worthless versions of Netscape.  The last version I had, I noticed frequent problems with cascading style sheets and table colorations.  I have checked my code in Opera 6.05, and it works quite well.
